District EL Parent Night

On January 19th, the federal programs team and EL teachers across the district were finally able to host their EL Parent Engagement Night at James Clemens. EL teachers hosted mini-sessions, and parents had a choice in which sessions they attended. Sessions included learning how to navigate MCS platforms, getting information about the various programs and resources used in EL classrooms, learning how to adapt table games to build English language acquisition, and a college and career session hosted by Dr. Stephanie Bostick from Bob Jones and Ms. Lana Meskunas from James Clemens. To end the night, parents got to meet with their children's teachers. Feedback from the EL parents who attended was extremely positive, and we look forward to creating more opportunities for our EL families to actively engage in future events.
